Antam sells 3.6 tons of gold in first half

The company?s marketing manager for processing and purification unit, Bambang Wijanarko said that the realization of the sales volume during the first semester of this year was within the company?s target.
Antam targets to sell 7 tons of gold this year, 20.7 percent increase from 5.8 tons in 2011. Bambang said that the demand for the company?s gold had continued to increase in recent months as more people had chosen to buy the metal for long-term investments. He said the sales in the third quarter would be higher because the projected increase in the demand ahead of Idul fitri holidays.
In order to meet the sales target, Antam has forged cooperation with more financial institutions such as bank shariah in selling the company?s gold, Bambang said.(*)
