East Asia Minerals appoints David Stein as director

Asia-focused Canadian mineral exploration firm East Asia Minerals Corporation announced Thursday that David Stein has been appointed to the company?s board of directors.

Stein, is President and COO of Aberdeen International where he manages a diversified junior resource investment portfolio with a focus on gold and precious metals.

Prior to his role at Aberdeen , he worked as a senior equity analyst at Cormark Securities for nine years, including serving as a director, with a focus on gold mining companies. Stein is also a director of several publicly-traded mining and resource companies as well as serving as a director of a privately-held resource development company focused on Mongolia .

He earned a Master of Science degree in Geology from Queen's University in 2001 and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Geological Engineering) from Queen's University in 1998.

East Asia Minerals has gold and copper exploration properties in Indonesia , and uranium exploration properties in Mongolia . In Indonesia the Company has a 70 to 85% interest in three advanced gold and gold-copper properties located in Aceh Province , Sumatra , and Sangihe Island , North Sulawesi . (alex)
