The Indonesian government is expecting to collect a total of between Rp6 and 7 trillion worth of revenues by the end of this year from export tax of mineral ores, which is regulated on May 16 2012, Head of Fiscal Policy Office of the Ministry of Finance Bambang P. Brojonegoro said to Petromindo.com.
Bambang however refused to disclose the amount of the revenues that government has managed to get so far after the regulation was applied about twenty days ago.
"We are still counting it," he said. Regarding the resistence from the exporter of mineral raw material, he said that export tax should be the better choice than export ban. "Which would you prefer, export tax or export ban?" He asked.
