The government has received proposal from 126 companies to build processing and refining facilities after the issuance of regulation on export ban on unprocessed minerals.
Director of Mineral Business Development at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that the office was still assessing the proposal.
"We try to believe their goodwill to build processing facilities. We are assessing the proposals," Dede told the conference on export duty on mineral ores organized by Petromindo.com.
He said that the number of proposals for processing and refining facility submitted before the issuance of the Ministry Regulation No 7/2012 total 24 only.
Currently, there are only 7 companies operating processing and refining facilities in the country.
The government requires that mineral miners submit plan to build processing and refining facility as pre-requisite for them to be allowed to export unprocessed ores.
