Kresna Inti operation still halted

Indonesia listed mining company PT Kresna Inti Cipta has not yet decided when it will restart its nickel production in Morowali, Central Sulawesi after halting it several weeks ago.

Operation Director PT Kresna Inti Cipta, Priyo P. Soemarno told Petromindo.com that the company stopped its production when the Government issued the government regulation number 7 banning the export of centain raw mineral ores, which is followed by the 20 percent export tax regulation.

"We haven't decided yet when we will recommence the nickel production," he said, adding that the company's production was at the level of 50,000 metric tons per month.

Beside nickel, the company is also planning to produce coal from its mine in Malinau, East Kalimantan which is still in exploration stage.
