1. POSITION : WELDING ENGINEER

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/SERTIFICATION
1. Engineering design activities. Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase. Capability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work. Capability to perform and coordinate Project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by Vendors.
2. Engineering standard codes and regulations. Capability to analyse dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions. When required by the role, ability to mange the resolution of Engineering Non Conformity (NCR) at site supporting Construction and / or Fabrication activities effectively interfacing project Team, Client and Vendor.
3. Quantity estimation for engineering disciplines. Capability to define the Project general rules and guidelines for Discipline quantities estimation either on Bid Projects or on Projects in execution, according to Corporate design standards, procedures, methods and tools. Capability to control and ensure the correct application of the general rules and guidelines by all team members and all subcontractors involved in quantity definition activities.
4. Engineering project documents management. Capability to analyse engineering documents (e.g. Instruction to Tender, Saipem and subcontractor documents, etc.) identifying improvement areas in terms of cost/time optimization.
5. Engineering reporting techniques. Capability to monitor and control the engineering progress and schedule. Contribute to Project reporting for the relevant engineering part.
6. Engineering Subcontractor management and control. Capability to handle subcontracted engineering work packages defining the scope of work, the milestones and documentation deliverables. Capability to control the quality, the costs and the timing of the subcontracted activities ensuring the compliance with project scheduling and goals and with contract requirements.
7. Engineering technical software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center Discipline technical design software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center IT tools supporting business processes such as electronic document system management, procurement and office automation applications.
8. Engineering equipment testing. Capability to define technical requirements for Discipline equipment and materials workshop testing according to Corporate standards, procedures, methods and tools
9. Engineering Material Testing. Capability to define technical requirements for Discipline equipment and materials workshop testing according to Corporate standards, procedures, methods and tools
10. Corrosion and protection. Knowledge of the principles of corrosion and corrosion control methodologies. Knowledge of the potential corrosion damage mechanisms affecting the materials used in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors when exposed to both the process (i.e. internal) and service (i.e. external) environments, including transient operations, e.g. installation, pre- commissioning, start-up and shut-down. Knowledge of the main Industry models and software for corrosion assessment in both sour and sweet services, their applicability and limitations and ability to perform corrosion rate calculations and corrosion assessment evaluations. Knowledge of the main metallic (and non-metallic) materials, their chemical, physical and mechanical properties, their corrosion resistance properties in the various process and service environments and interaction among each other. Knowledge of the main corrosion control methodologies, such as materials selection, process control, metallurgical controls, chemical treatment, coatings/paintings/linings, cathodic protection (both sacrificial anodes and ICCP) and cleaning/preservation strategies, their applicability and limitations. Knowledge of the main applicable Industry materials selection and corrosion control international standards and codes (such as NACE, API, ISO, NORSOK, DNVGL, etc.) and ability to analyse Clients standards.
11. Fracture mechanic. Knowledge of the main Standards and Codes for Engineering Criticality Assessment (ECA) and Fitness for Service (FFS) (i.e. BS7910, DNVGL-RP- F108, DNV-ST-F101, API1104, API 579, BS 7448). Knowledge of the Fracture Mechanics Principles and its applications. Knowledge of the Fatigue Analysis principles and testing methods. Knowledge of mechanical properties of metals and standard testing. Knowledge of Crackwise software for Engineering Criticality Assessment, Matlab and Pyton. Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and software (i.e. Abaqus). Knowledge of the Mechanical Design principles and Stress Analysis in order to select relevant state of stress to be considered in fracture mechanics evaluations. Knowledge of the Fracture Toughness testing methods and standards.
12. Material engineering. Knowledge of the principles of metallurgy and materials science. Knowledge of the main metallic (and non-metallic) materials used in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors, their chemical, physical and mechanical properties, their applicability, limitations and costs and other relevant features e.g. market availability, shop and field fabrication, joining methods, etc. Knowledge of manufacturing processes of products used in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors in different materials, such as: steel making, hot and cold forming (e.g. rolling, forging, drawing, extrusion, casting, etc.), heat treatment, welding and finishing operations and their influence on final mechanical and corrosion resistance properties. Ability to draft Product Specifications for components used in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors, such as line pipes, hot induction bends, flanges and fittings, forgings, etc.. and knowledge of impacts of products properties on SAIPEM processes and technologies. Knowledge of materials suppliers in the upstream and downstream Oil and Gas sectors, their capabilities and limitations. Ability to review suppliers' offers, perform technical alignments and evaluations and participate to technical meetings. Knowledge of materials destructive and non-destructive test methods used during products manufacturing, their applicability and limitations. Knowledge of the main applicable Industry materials International standards and codes (such as ASME, API, ASTM, ISO, DNVGL, etc.) and ability to analyse Clients Specifications and standards.
13. NDT engineering. Knowledge of the physics principles at the basis of inspection techniques applicable on pipeline girth welds and base material checks in the manufacturing of final or semi-finished products (pipes, forged, castings, etc.). Specific knowledge of advanced technologies (PA-UT, TOFD, TFM/FMC, Digital RT, etc.) applied to welded joints. Strong knowledge of defects typical in any automatic and manual welding process. Knowledge of main manufacturing processes for finished and semi-finished products (pipes, forgings, castings, etc..) with focus on the typical defects in order to review any NDT documentation of potential Vendors on EPCI and T&I contracts. Capability in the interpretation of international codes, Client Specification, acceptance criteria . Knowledge of Saipem NDT equipment (AUT, RT, etc..) and capability in the preparation of coherent NDT procedures / work instructions and fabrication specification to subcontractors . Capability of NDT data interpretations / analysis and statistical evaluations to develop NDT qualification programs.
14. Welding engineering and techniques. Knowledge of the welding processes required by projects for offshore/onshore/fabrication yard activities (GMAW, SAW, FCAW, PAW, SMAW, GTAW, Carbon Arc Air Gouging, etc.). Knowledge of various type of welding machines (e.g. automatic, mechanized, etc..) and capability to select the main welding consumables (wires, flux, electrodes, filling rods, shielding gas, etc..) and define their storage requirements. Knowledge of different international codes/standards to develop and review Preliminary Welding Procedure Specification (PWPS) and Welding Procedure Specification (WPS), including welding repair procedures. Capability to use the main test and measuring instruments to monitor the welding process parameters/performance. Knowledge of mechanical and metallurgical testing to be performed during the Procedure Qualification Record (PQR) execution and review. Capability to analyse the specific Project requirements and identify implementation action on the PQRs, WPSs and Project documents for production coverage. Knowledge of main NDT methods and equipment, capability to notice indications and defects on the welded joints.
15. Welding materials and equipment. Knowledge of welding equipment of common use in Saipem projects. Capability to perform trouble shooting and propose corrective action. Capability to identify the most suitable equipment and equipment consumable for any specific case.
16. HSE Work Practices. Knowledge of the main risks during the operation activities and safe working and environmental protection procedures/practices & rules to be applied. Knowledge of adequate Personal Protective Equipment - purpose, use and maintenance Knowledge and the correct use of Permit to Work system.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
1. Follow welding through all its aspects from bid phase when welding philosophy has to be set to Project completions, looking at solutions of high quality level and high productivity, according to Project Schedule, monitoring and supporting Production Phase.
2. Promote and support new welding solutions, techniques and consumables to achieve the most competitive and strategic results
3. Assist and support the Welding Coordinator and/or project teams on all welding matters
4. Prepare and issue preliminary Welding Documents for assigned project or bids
5. Review clients specifications and scopes of work, examine pipe metallurgy and prepare detailed Welding procedures to achieve maximum productivity in accordance with required quality levels
6. Coordinate and schedule personnel and systems for the qualification of welding procedures and welders
7. Review subcontractors tender documents and technical qualifications
8. Assist QHSE Department on subcontractor assessments/audits
9. Review and approve subcontractors Welding submissions
10. Ensure that Welding traceability info are recorded, maintained and available in the required format for all Welding activities to demonstrate achievement of client requirements
11. Review journals and technical papers for new welding technology. Maintain contact with welding equipment suppliers and consumable vendors to promote advances in welding technology
12. Maintain updated departmental project Welding files and database so that information is readily available to other department members
13. Liaise with the barge personnel, particularly welding supervisors and operative welding figures, and assist in optimising work methods and trouble shooting where and when required
14. Monitor laybarge progress to identify opportunities for improvement
15. Contract Technical review to verify Project Technical requirements for Welding Activities
16. Propose the Base material Purchase strategy for a fabrication Project
17. Prepare and issue Welding Documents (Welding Books, WPSs, WPQR, PTW report, Procedures, etc.)
18. Evaluate and extimate type and quantity of welding consumables
19. Prepare Purchase Requests for Welding Consmable
20. Monitor Consumables consumes along the project, evaluating additional Consumable Purchase, if required
21. Monitor the Welding Quality trough the analisys of the trends of Project Defect Rates and Welders defect rates prepared by QHSE Dept., proposing improvement actions.
2. POSITION : PROJECT HSE MANAGER

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/SERTIFICATION
1. Maritime Laws and Regulations Administration. Knowledge of the general administrative activities supporting the Maritime Safety and Security and Labour Management system with regard to: smooth management processes, record monitoring and storage, fulfilment of the financial requirements, compliance with the best management practices.
2. Civil works activities. Knowledge of excavation, blinding shuttering , concrete pouring and iron cutting and bending techniques, drawings interpretation, organization of re-bar prefabrication workshops, installation methods and recording of work done. Ability to execute propaedeutic works to be carried out for civil works activities ensuring compliance with project documentation.
3. Piping and steel structures prefabrication and installation. Knowledge of prefabrication, fabrication and installation methodologies for piping, piping underground, steel structures. Knowledge of heavy lifting methodologies. Knowledge of methodologies, procedures and equipment for wrapping, lowering and bending of pipes. Ability to supervise and to execute the activities of steel structures prefabrication, piping prefabrication, piping erection, piping underground, equipment erection and machinery installation.
4. Rigging and lifting equipment and operations. Knowledge of the various types of rigging equipment (slings, bridles, shackles, etc.) and lifting equipment (cranes, tirfors, chain blocks, bridge cranes, etc.).
5. HSE event management and investigation. Knowledge of investigation techniques and of data analysis and reporting of HSE events. Knowledge and application of HSE reporting system (HSE regular reports and incident notification reports) and Incident Investigation organization
6. HSE inspection & audit. Knowledge of audit techniques and capability to manage HSE (safety / environmental) audit in order to supervise the implementation of specific procedures on worksite. Capability to execute workplace HSE inspection
7. Assets integrity. Major Accident Prevention management system; Knowledge of asset integrity principles and requirements. Knowledge to design or to review the design developed by specialized vendors and subcontractors shall be made available and maintained, to assure Asset Integrity in Operations, to sustain Asset Integrity Management System; to prevent Major Accident.
8. Company HSE management & legislation, standards and certification. Knowledge of local HSE legislation and main important international standards on HSE management system (e.g. ISO 14001 ISO 45001). Knowledge of company management system in order to be actively involved in their management and certification. Knowledge of independent certification process, certification issued by third party certification body, rules and accreditation body. Knowledge and implementation of Company HSE management system (policy, guidelines, standards and procedures) as per duties and responsibilities of their role. 9. Project HSE management. Definition, knowledge ,understanding and application of HSE procedures and Project requirements for all project phases. 12. HSE risk management. Knowledge of criteria, standards, main techniques and methodologies for hazards identification during work execution, occupational risk assessment and evaluation. 13. HSE training & communication. BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
1. Ensure correct development, management and improvement of Project HSE Management System throughout the engineering and development phases (EPIC) of the project
2. Plan and coordinate the activities of all HSE personnel working both in design and on sites
3. Define criteria and references for developing project HSE plans and for undertaking specific studies and global analysis evaluating plant/platform performance in normal operating and upset conditions
4. Ensure that all design, procurement, construction and installation activities carried out by Saipem are conducted in strict accordance with the Client HSE Requirements, Saipem HSE Standards, applicable local legislation, International Standards (ISO1400 1 and ISO 45001)
