Robust reports high grade polymetallic mineralization on Romang Island

The company said the central part of Batu Mas consists of an upper zone of mainly gold and silver-rich mineralization which overlies a thick pile of polymetallic sulphide breccia containing potentially economic concentrations of copper, lead, zinc, gold, silver and barite.
South of the above-mentioned thick central dome, drilling has intersected what is interpreted to be a near-surface sheet of precious metal-rich, polymetallic sulphide breccias hosted by altered volcanic rocks.
?The geological setting described above is important, as it will be used as a model in the exploration of a number of new targets, such as the as-yet undrilled Batu Perak high-grade silver anomaly,? Robust Resources said.
This style of mineralization has been intersected in previously released drill holes (e.g. LWD083: 20m at 4.37 g/t Au Equivalent or 3.42% Cu Equivalent3.
Hole LWD090 was-collared 30 meters east of LWD083 and to the south of Billiton drill hole LWD006, which also intersected precious metal-rich high-grade polymetallic breccias.
The company said the results released in the southern part of Batu Mas indicate a zone of mineralization that is still open to the south.
"Whilst not as thick as some others, it is nevertheless of potentially high economic value due to its grade and easy accessibility. It is significant that this high-grade sulphide style is considered to be a model for the prime Batu Perak anomaly and for many other, as-yet untested, sub-limestone targets,? said company Managing Director Gary Lewis.
Lewis said Robust?s technical team is currently focused on completing geological models and the company is on track to report a maiden JORC compliant mineral resource estimate by the end of the current quarter.
?This resource estimate will be based on a very small area of drilling undertaken on Romang Island, representing less than 2 percent of the bottom one-third of the Island. Our exploration efforts are ongoing in both the North and South of the island,? he said. (romel)
