Manager Government Relations

PT Kalimantan Surya Kencana, a subsidiary of Asiamet Resources with its corporate Office in Jakarta and site office in Palangka Raya has an opening for the position of Manager Government Relations. The company is progressing development of the BKM Copper Project located in the regency of Gunung Mas, Central Kalimantan which is aiming to be Indonesia’s newest operational copper mine.

This is an opportunity for Government Relations professional who has strong experience in government relations and permitting related to mining project development and operations. The role may suit a Superintendent looking to take that step into a managerial role or an existing manager keen for the challenge of successfully delivering the permitting and approvals of a new operating mine.

The successful candidate will be part of a small but dynamic team in a company that has strong experience in exploration and is now looking to move into the next phase of project development.

Job Description

1. Manage and monitor permit and /or approval requirements and processes to ensure all permits, licenses and approvals are obtained in time effectively, especially related to permits in BKPM, ESDM, KLHK but including other government ministries.

2. Oversee and ensure that company is compliant with government obligations and regulations related to the company business.

3. Developing and managing relations with Central Government and Provincial Government officials.

4. Draft reports according to internal and external requirements.

5. Provide general assistance in area of expertise to help achieve the Company’s objectives/goals.

Qualifications & Experience

1. S1 Degree in Political Science, Law, Public Policies or Communications.

2. Minimum 10 years of experience in Government Relations and permitting activities preferably within the area of Mining.

3. Bahasa Indonesia and English – Intermediate Level (useful but not essential).

4. Possess advanced government relations skills

5. Well-developed relationships in relevant government departments

6. Strong people management

7. Good communication and report writing skills

8. Able to operate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point

9. Able to analyse complex problems and make solutions to the problems particularly related to permitting and approvals.

10. Able to detect and solve conflicts to reach team consensus
