POSITION : CIVIL WORKS ENGINEER (Code : CIVIL-ENG)

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/SERTIFICATION
1. Concrete works and Foundation design. Full knowledge of engineering design criteria for foundations, concrete structures and concrete works items like paving, pits, trenches, etc., including knowledge of criticalities related to construction.
2. Engineering design activities. Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase. Capability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work. Capability to perform and coordinate Project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by Vendors.
3. Engineering standard codes and regulations. Knowledge of main international Discipline standards, codes, and regulations. Capability to analyse dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions. When required by the role, ability to manage the resolution of Engineering Non-Conformity (NCR) at site supporting Construction and / or Fabrication activities effectively interfacing project Team, Client and Vendor.
4. Quantity estimation for engineering disciplines. Capability to define the Project general rules and guidelines for Discipline quantities estimation either on Bid Projects or on Projects in execution, according to corporate design standards, procedures, methods and tools. Capability to control and ensure the correct application of the general rules and guidelines by all team members and all subcontractors involved in quantity definition activities.
5. Engineering man-hours and cost budget planning and monitoring. Capability to estimate Discipline Work Orders and Bid Projects engineering man-hours budget based on the Project quantities and scope of work according to corporate standards, procedures, methods, and tools. Capability to estimate Discipline items costs budget based on Project quantities and technical requirements according to corporate standards, procedures, methods, and tools. Capability to monitor the relevant activity progress and the actual man-hours spent vs the earned progress.
6. Engineering project documents management. Capability to analyze engineering documents (e.g. Instruction to Tender, Saipem and subcontractor documents, etc.) identifying improvement areas in terms of cost/time optimization.
7. Engineering reporting techniques. Capability to monitor and control the engineering progress and schedule. Contribute to Project reporting for the relevant engineering part.
8. Engineering Subcontractor management and control. Capability to handle subcontracted engineering work packages defining the scope of work, the milestones and documentation deliverables. Capability to control the quality, the costs and the timing of the subcontracted activities ensuring compliance with project scheduling and goals and with contract requirements.
9. Engineering technical bid evaluation. Capability to perform technical evaluation of vendor bids with reference to Discipline items, bulk material and subcontracted work packages, according to corporate standards and procedures.
10. Technical proposal preparation. Capability to prepare and coordinate the preparation of Discipline technical proposal documents for Bid Projects according to Tender contractual requirements.
11. 2D and 3D modelling. Knowledge of tools related to 2D and 3D modelling activities.
12. Engineering technical software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center Discipline technical design software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center IT tools supporting business processes such as electronic document system management, procurement and office automation applications.
13. HSE Work Practices. Knowledge of the main risks during the operation activities and safe working and environmental protection procedures/practices & rules to be applied. Knowledge of adequate Personal Protective Equipment - purpose, use and maintenance Knowledge and the correct use of Permit to Work system.
14. Project materials post order management. Knowledge of supply chain process (engineering, purchasing, production and fabrications, assembling, packing, transportation, clearing through customs, preservation, and installation). Ability to focus on Project objectives and Purchase Order requirements in terms of performance, quantities and quality characteristics, time schedule and cost (expediting, quality control during manufacturing stages, shipping and customs activities of purchased goods). Ability in planning, coordinating, executing, monitoring and improving post order process for goods.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
1. Perform technical tasks assigned by the Civil and Structural Lead, related with design, verification and checking activities, in order to operate in compliance with assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
2. Ensure the interfaces with the other Project Specialists and Designers to coordinate activities performed inside or outside the Company.
3. Gather and provide record of experiences in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies through continuous improvement.
4. Ensure the assigned goals achievement and the fulfilment of the project quality and contractual requirements.
5. Define list of activities and deliverables, set up with the Discipline leader the time schedule, coordinate activities in accordance with contractual requirements.
6. Prepare design specification for civil works (e.g., concrete works, plant roads, underground networks, piling works).
7. Prepare detailed BOQ for civil works and buildings and MTO for steel structure.
8. Prepare documentation for technical annexes for engineering activities subcontracting.
9. Develop drain water, sewage system layout, plumbing system inside buildings.
10. Develop studies for foundations and concrete structures.
11. Ensure proper quality checks of all Discipline project documents including Vendors document
12. Track and report to Discipline leader the scope of work changes updating manhour and cost estimates.
13. Provide technical support to Project functions including Procurement and Construction.
14. Support Discipline leader/TM in technical interface with Client.
15. Prepare technical documentation for civil material requisition and assist the procurement dept. in the technical evaluations.
16. Prepare together with Discipline leader Technical Bid Evaluations.
17. Review Client's technical documentation and requirements.
18. Maintain project technical files.
19. Set up and execute assigned engineering activities such as detail design, verification and studies
20. Supervise/Approve engineering design and construction drawings of civil items related to foundations, concrete structures and buildings.

23. Design of functional layouts, architectural aspects (3D modelling), finishing and furniture E-Construction & start up.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
1. Perform Project technical tasks assigned by the Instrumentation Discipline Lead consisting in design, checking, layout definition, installation drawings and material definition, validation, testing and engineering of process measuring sensors, process actuators, installation elements and process safety elements.
2. Interface and coordinate with the other Project Team Specialists and Designers.
