The Martabe Gold Mine, located in South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra, operates across 646.08 hectares as of December 2024. Since production began on 24 July 2012, the mine has processed over 6 million tonnes of ore annually, producing more than 200,000 ounces of gold and 1–2 million ounces of silver annually.

The Martabe Gold Mine operates under a 30-year Contract of Work (CoW) with the Indonesian Government. Initially spanning 6,560 km² in 1997, the concession area has been refined to 130,252 hectares (1,303 km²), encompassing South Tapanuli, Central Tapanuli, North Tapanuli and Mandailing Natal Regencies.

As of June 2024, the mine’s mineral resources were estimated at 6.1 million ounces of gold and 59 million ounces of silver, while ore reserves were calculated at 3.2 million ounces of gold and 32 million ounces of silver.

The Martabe Gold Mine is currently seeking a qualified professional to join our MPDSE Department Team, supporting the enhancement of departmental capabilities and the achievement of strategic objectives.

SENIOR SUPERVISOR -

DEVELOPMENT EARTHWORK

This position will be based at the Martabe Gold Mine  Site within the MPDSE Department and will report directly to the Manager – Project Development.

The Senior Supervisor – Development Earthwork is responsible for:

l Supporting and ensuring that short-term project construction targets are achieved in terms of both cost and progress stages, in collaboration with the Development Execution team, in the most cost-effective and optimal manner.

l Liaising and communicating with other teams within the MPDSE section and relevant PTAR departments regarding job scopes and material requirements.

l Coordinating with contractors to ensure that work is carried out safely and according to schedule. Leading the team in executing additional tasks related to safety and environmental protection within the earthwork area.

Candidates for this position are expected to meet the following qualifications and criteria:

1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s or Diploma degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

2. Holder of a valid POP (Pengawas Operasional Pertama) certification.

3. At least 8 years of experience in the mining industry.

4. Familiar with civil earthworks, as well as road and dam construction.

5. Capable of leading a team in the installation of silt fences, geomembranes, HDPE pipes, culvert boxes, and gabions.

6. Competent in water control and pumping systems for project needs.

7. Strong supervisory skills with the ability to control and evaluate construction crews effectively.

8. Preferred qualities: strong leadership, effective communication skills, safety awareness, and the ability to collaborate well with superiors, peers, and subordinates. A solid understanding of people management, functional planning, and strategic execution to achieve targets with high-quality outcomes is highly desirable.
