General Manager Mine Geology & Quality Assurance

Job Descriptions

• Accountable for developing and ensuring implementation of systems and strategies to prevent ore dilutions, maximize ore recovery, optimize low-grade conservation, and to blend different ore streams to maximize the nickel grade with on-specification feed for HPAL and RKEF Plant

• Ensure the implementation of EHS program to prevent any accidents and compliances against procedures, regulations, and policies

• Ensure the mine produces high quality and on spec ore by optimizing blending from the hills/mine faces and controlling Ni grade & chemistries during stripping and mining to prevent/minimize ore dilutions and ore losses

• Manage and control the ore streams from the Mine faces to stockpiles to prevent/minimize dilutions during ore handling, hauling, stockpiling, and investigate any discrepancy of quality & quantity to find solutions

• Manage and optimizing low grade ore as part of conservation strategy

• Manage stockpiles to get reliable information, optimum retention time to maintain moisture content and blending flexibility to meet the ore specification

• Provide blending strategy/directions for Mine Planning and Operation, and monitor and track execution and act accordingly to address any deviation from plan

• Manage monitor and control of the quality of ore transport so there is no significant discrepancy between mine against smelter / process plant

• Review and assess Exploration and MRMR data with LTP/Strategic planning to produce optimum mining method and ore blending in 5 years & life of mine and give feedback to Exploration for directing drilling program to ensure ore blending capability to produce high value mine product

• Review and assess Exploration and MRMR orebody model with Short Term Mine Planning to select the most effective digging equipment and mining method and to produce optimum ore blending to maximize Ni grade of on specification feed

• Conduct regular ore reconciliation to measure accuracy of ore reserve model against actual mine and to give feedback to exploration, mine planning and operation to see areas of improvement related to accuracy of orebody model and to maximize mining recovery

• Manage improvement project initiatives for continuous improvements (Ore grade and chemistry variability, Moisture reduction, Ni grade Discrepancy, and Optimum Blending

• Develop and maintain robust working relationships with suppliers of analytical services to SCM, both within Indonesia and internationally

• Proactively manage team members and external providers to ensure delivery of agreed outcomes on time and within budget

• Assist with development of budgets including the monitoring and reporting actual performance against budgets and forecasts

Requirements

• B.Sc. or M.Sc Degree in Geology, Mineral Exploration or related field

• Minimum of fifteen (15) years of mining related experience is required

• At least 5 years in a similar managerial and senior level position required

• Advanced technical knowledge of nickel laterite geology, grade control, sampling, ore reconciliation, quality ore transport, and geo-metallurgy

• Having knowledge and experience in Mine Planning and Operations

• Well understanding of ESDM system related sell ore from mining to smelter both quantity and quality
