KEPALA TEKNIK SMELTER (SMT)
(Site Based)
Some of your duties will include:
• Responsible to ensure that smelter operations are carried out in compliance with the requirements set by the Indonesian government, such as in the application of environmentally friendly technologies, waste management, and environmental protection
• responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of a smelting operation, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a smelting facility.
• This position is also responsible for managing the technical team, developing and implementing procedures, identifying and addressing technical issues, and collaborating with other departments to optimize performance
• Ensuring that smelter operations are carried out in accordance with the requirements and regulations set by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK), and the Environmental Monitoring Agency (BPLHD).
• Monitoring the implementation of environmentally friendly technologies and effective waste management in smelter operations.
• Ensuring environmental protection and the health of workers at the smelter site.
• Maintaining good communication with relevant departments in the company and the government to ensure that smelter operations comply with applicable legal requirements.
• Ensuring operational safety and the quality of products produced in accordance with regulations set by the National Standardization Agency (BSN) and the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin).
• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of smelter facilities to keep them in good condition and meet safety and environmental requirements.
• Evaluating and designing more efficient and environmentally friendly smelter operation strategies.
• Providing the necessary reports and information to the Indonesian government regarding smelter operations.
What skills and experience do you need?
• Bachelor's or master's degree in chemical engineering, metallurgy, materials science, or a related field.
• At least 20 years of experience in a technical leadership or management role in the smelting industry or a related field.
• Proven track record of successful smelter operations management, including environmental compliance and safe work practices; Familiarity with Good Corporate Governance, Occupational, Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations and standards related to smelter operations
• Knowledge of smelting processes and associated equipment;
• Professional certification, such as a Certified Smelter Manager (CSM) or Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), may be preferred or required;
• Fluency in both written and spoken English and Indonesian may be required, particularly for companies with international operations or partnerships;
• Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to oversee and direct the work of technical staff; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate with different departments and stakeholders; Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
SUPV. / SUPERINTENDENT ELECTRO REFINERY (SMT)
(Site Based)
Some of your duties will include:
• The position entails sound technical knowledge of the Electro Refinery process along with the engineering skills related to design, layout, equipment selection, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance;
• First time right” Engineering decisions for Electro Refinery along with the Owner’s engineers’ team & the technology supplier;
• HAZID & HAZOP – Conversant with the hazards related to Electro Refinery & the mitigation measures;
• Safety & Statutory Compliances – Ensure compliance to safety and environment & adhere to SOPs during construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the plant;
• Strong knowledge of Electro Refining & Electro Winning process and operations as well as its effective management;
• To support in preparation of Standard Operating Procedures & Work Instruction for every equipment and stages of operations with commissioning team;
• Involve in machine installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning & plant start up activities as per instruction;
• Training & guidance to the plant operators & technicians in line with plant commissioning & start up activities;
• Should communicate and take appropriate actions with all internal stake holders & service provider team for achieving plant performance;
• Effectively manage the issues and mitigate the risks during the project stage and subsequently during the operations;
• Operation of Electro Refinery post hot commissioning, achieve the monthly targets in line with the budget/set target;
• Ensuring 100% availability of all critical equipment of Electro Refinery to follow cathode production schedule;
• Work in close co-ordination with Owners Engineers & NFC NERIN & other technology suppliers, OEM to ensure that the project completes as per the agreed schedule without any compromise on safety and quality;
What skills and experience do you need?
• Chemical or equivalent engineering background with at least Min. 10 years relevant industrial experience in engineering, design, OEM selection, managing construction, Operations of Electro Refinery Plant, especially in Non-Ferrous sector – preferably Copper Smelter
• Has experience in Electro Refinery for copper smelters with at least 5 years’ experience in similar position or having worked with global Engineering companies for Copper /Nickel/Zinc projects in an EPC/EPCM mode.
• Expertise in process technology, engineering, operations, maintenance, shutdown management, troubleshooting
• Knowledgeable on subcontract management, including project controls, configuration management, risk management, schedule, and cost control

SUPV. / SUPERINTENDENT- REFRACTORY (SMT)
(Site Based)
Some of your duties will include:
• This role is reporting to Manager Smelter, and responsible to deliver robust inspection / maintenance / demolition / regular wear item replacement / major furnace lining replacement works / for 4 significant furnaces plus all associated refractory-lined items within the entire facility area;
• Lead major refractory installation / maintenance / long-term rebrick shutdown planning (materials, labour, contractors – but in the refractory side only – any other major works required during such a shutdown would be in the scope others) in the 1 – 5 year timeframe;
• Refractory team is skilled, safe, trained and equipped to conduct the routine refractory repair works at the smelter;
• Drive a rigorous quality-focused team to maintain smelter equipment in a safe operable state. Minimize production risk by maintaining a selected amount of stock of critical refractory spares and materials on site. Balance this with cost and storage (shelf-life) restrictions;
• Cost control and inventory control of all refractory materials, ancillaries and special tools with oversight on procurement and logistics for delivery;
• Team safety. Team training and development given the remote location of the site and the lack of locally skilled artisans;
• Scheduling of refractory inspections, including any hot “on-line” specialist in-house or 3rd party measurements of refractory wear;
• Emergency response planning and Incident Control Management for unforeseen major refractory failures;
• Quality control, inspection and sign-off for refractory repairs / installations on site, whether conducted by direct reports or contractors;
• Selection of appropriately qualified and equipped contractors for major rebrick shutdown works.
What skills and experience do you need?
• Chemical or equivalent tertiary engineering background with at least 10 years experience in similar pyrometallurgical role (non-ferrous industry preferred but steelworks or other pyrometallurgical experience is welcome, as are any other high-temperature processes such as silicon);
• Experience in greenfield/brownfield project &/or international organization would be an added advantage;
• At least 5 years in Superintendent level preferably within a large organization;
• Expertise in process technology, engineering, operations, maintenance, shutdown management, troubleshooting;

SPEC. / SUPV. / SUPERINTENDENT – PRECIOUS METAL REFINERY
(Site Based)
Some of your duties will include:
• To lead the team to deliver project construction and operations of Precious Metal refinery based on copper anode slime, in company operation area, including management of issues, risks and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.
• Establish design systems and database technology in the management and supervision of Smelter Plant projects.
• Provide advice and guidance to contractors, employees and consultants to ensure Company and corporate standards are applied and maintained.
• Make critical decisions of a process or cost nature by having external knowledge of the cost and availability of materials and contractors/manpower as they apply to project planning and execution.
• Establish the effective integration of diverse project construction in the Smelter plant area.
• Employ international best standards in planning and construction to meet project deadlines and keeping costs low and within budget.
• Effectively schedule and monitor work and take appropriate actions to avoid delays in supply or execution.
• Prepare appropriate reports and presentations for Senior Management and shareholders.
• Develop budgets and execute budget with a focus on cost control and utilization of Value Improving Practices.
• Undertake negotiation for budgets and financial plans with relevant groups and individuals in ways that build commitment to the plans.
• Review cost management issues and identify improvements.
• Manage Department’s Budget, identify issues, and propose improvements.
What skills and experience do you need?
• Engineering or advanced technology background with relevant academic and industry experience in managing hydro-metallurgical extraction of Gold, Silver and other precious materials and in working on pertinent software and at least 10 years’ global experience in engineering, design, technology & OEM selection, managing project construction and operations of Precious Metal Refinery based on copper anode slime;
• Has experiences as Manager – Precious Metal Refinery for copper smelters with at least 5 years’ experience in similar position or having worked with global Engineering companies as Manager for Copper /Nickel/Zinc projects in an EPC/EPCM mode;
• Previous experience managing project scopes in the range of US$ 1 billion to 1.5 billion dollar project scopes/budgets is required;
• Candidates with prior experience in working with large Asian Precious Metal Refinery plants using hydro-metallurgical operations will be an added advantage.
• Expertise in Process technology, engineering, operation, maintenance and past credentials to efficiently manage Precious Metal Refinery plants a pre-requisite for this position
• Have primary level operational inspector certificate (POU) or qualifications certificate recognized by KaIT (Chief Mines Inspector) in accordance with level of position.
• Knowledgeable on subcontract management, including project controls, configuration management, risk management, schedule and cost control;

Some of your duties will include:
• This role will be repoting to Manager – GC Sulphuric Acid Plant (SAP); The position entails sound technical knowledge of SAP process along with the engineering skills related to design, layout, equipment selection, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance;
• HAZID & HAZOP – Conversant with the hazards related to SAP & the mitigation measures;
• Safety & Statutory Compliances – Ensure compliance to safety and environment & adhere to SOPs during construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the plant;
• Strong technical knowledge of blowers, FRP, Heat Exchangers, Wet ESP, Acid Towers, Cooling Towers, Tanks, etc along with the impact of the heavy metals and impurities received from Smelter process & its effective management;
• Conversant with the different reagents used, effective waste management in compliance with the local regulations;
• Effectively manage the issues and mitigate the risks during the project stage and subsequently during the operations;
• Support Head of SAP during project, commissioning & stabilization & achieve the monthly targets in line with the budget/set target;
• Work in close co-ordination with Owners Engineers & NFC NERIN & other technology suppliers, OEM to ensure that the project completes as per the agreed schedule without any compromise on safety and quality;
What skills and experience do you need?
• Chemical or Process Operations background with at least 15 years relevant industrial experience in Operations of Sulphuric Acid plan, design, especially in Non-Ferrous sector – preferably Copper Smelter;
• Experience in greenfield/brownfield project &/or international organization would be an added advantage;
• At least 5 years in similar role as Superintendent Sulphuric Acid Plant, preferably have Prior experience in managing project of SAP in Asian Non-ferrous smelters or other Indonesian origin plants will be an added advantage;
• Expertise in process technology, engineering, operations, maintenance, shutdown management, troubleshooting;
• Knowledgeable on risk management, schedule, and cost control;
• Strong leadership and organizational, scheduling & time management skills;

• Ensure copper loss in tailings as per the performance guarantee during commissioning & subsequent plant operations
• “First time right” Engineering decisions for Slag Concentrator (SC) along with the Owner’s engineers’ team & the technology supplier
• HAZID & HAZOP – Conversant with the hazards related to SC & the mitigation measures
• Safety & Statutory Compliances – Ensure compliance to safety and environment & adhere to SOPs during construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the plant
• Basic knowledge of different equipment used for SC plant like Crushers, Ball Mill, SAG Mill, Compressor, Flotation Cells, Slurry Pumps, Thickeners, Filtration unit, etc.
• Effectively manage the issues and mitigate the risks during the project stage and subsequently during the operations
• Operation & Maintenance of SC post commissioning in close co-ordination with the main Smelter operation
• Ensuring no stoppage of Smelter due to lower availability of SC
• Reagents handling & management as per the SOPs
• Ensure correct water balance in the system
• Optimize the specific consumption of water, power, reagents & consumables based on best operating practices
What skills and experience do you need?
• Metallurgical or Chemical engineering background with at least 10 years relevant industrial experience in engineering, design, OEM selection, managing construction, Operations of Concentrator plant, especially in Non-Ferrous sector – preferably Copper Smelter. Experience in greenfield/brownfield project &/or international organization would be an added advantage.
• Prior experience in managing Concentrator plant in Asian Non-ferrous smelters or other Indonesian origin plants will be an added advantage
• Expertise in process technology, engineering, operations, maintenance, shutdown management, troubleshooting
• Previous experience in managing high value project (>USD 1 billion) would be preferred

• HAZID & HAZOP – Conversant with the hazards related to ASU & the mitigation measures
• Safety & Statutory Compliances – Ensure compliance to safety and environment & adhere to SOPs during construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of the plant
• Basic knowledge of different equipment used for ASU plant like Blowers, Compressor, Heat Exchangers, Expanders, Electric Heaters, PPU units, Chillers, Pre-cooling towers, Cooling Tower, Pumps, LOX pumps, Cryogenic double walled storage, distillation column and Air Filtration
• Effectively manage the issues and mitigate the risks during the project stage and subsequently during the operations
• Operation & Maintenance of ASU plant post commissioning, achieve the monthly targets in line with the budget/set target
• Ensuring no stoppage of Smelter due to lower availability of ASU
• Life Cycle analysis of critical equipment & spares
• Optimize the specific consumption of water, power, oxygen venting, consumables based on best operating practices
What skills and experience do you need?
• Mechanical engineering background with at least 10 years relevant industrial experience in engineering, design, OEM selection, managing construction, Operations of ASU, especially in Non-Ferrous sector – preferably Copper Smelter. Experience in greenfield/brownfield project &/or international organization would be an added advantage.
• Prior experience in managing ASU in Asian Non-ferrous smelters or other Indonesian origin plants will be an added advantage
• Expertise in process technology, engineering, operations, maintenance, shutdown management, troubleshooting
• Previous experience in managing high value project (>USD 1 billion) would be preferred
