DRILLING TECHNICAL ENGINEER

LOCATION: JAKARTA

This position is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of offshore exploration and development well projects. The role is essential for leading well planning and execution, managing risks and contractors, and providing technical leadership to ensure well maturity and successful project delivery in line with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Ensure compliance with SAKA HSSE policies, the HSSE Management System, and applicable HSE standards.

2. Support risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP, and mitigation planning for drilling operations.

3. Develop drilling programs including casing design, well trajectory, drilling fluids, and cementing.

4. Perform engineering analyses such as hydraulics modeling, torque and drag, and wellbore stability.

5. Optimize drilling fluid systems to maintain wellbore stability and improve drilling efficiency.

6. Conduct technical risk assessments and develop operational contingency plans.

7.Oversee rig and vessel acceptance, intake, and start-up readiness.

8. Monitor drilling performance to improve efficiency and minimize non-productive time (NPT).

9. Implement well control practices to maintain well integrity and operational safety.

10. Prepare End of Well Reports (EOWR) and document lessons learned.

11. Prepare Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) and support drilling cost monitoring.

12. Coordinate with SKK Migas on drilling proposals, AFE submissions, WP&B, PLK, and P3 documentation.

13.Collaborate with Subsurface, Exploration, Project Delivery, Risk, Commercial, and PSM teams on FS/FEED and FID processes.

14. Prepare PG N documentation as part of project maturation requirements.

15. Develop technical scopes for drilling contracts and coordinate tender evaluation, contract monitoring, and logistics support.

Job Requirement:

16. Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering.

17. Minimum 5 years of experience in the oil & gas industry.

18. Experience in onshore and offshore drilling engineering with proven project delivery.

19. Strong knowledge of drilling operations, drilling fluids, well control, and MOC processes.

20. Experience in MPD, rig/vessel start-up and operations, and risk management is an advantage.

21. Familiar with wellhead, Christmas tree, tubular handling, and supplier performance management.

22. Have a valid IWCF Level 4 certification.
