We are seeking experienced people for the following position:

EOI Engineer Drill & Blast (926856)

(Wahana)

In this role, you will:

• Provide drill & blast planning service which guides the mining operation towards the long term & profitability

• Provide daily, weekly and monthly planning to support production target in most cost effective way in safety manner

• Provide daily and monthly report for drill and blast actual production including but not limited to total drill depth, total blasted volume, explosive usage, drill and blast cost

• Control drill and blast activities to avoid any operational issues, e.g. hard digging case, coal losses, mining delay, standby equipment, and blasting permit

What skills and experience do you need?

• Applicants should have a minimum Bachelor degree in Mining Engineering with 5 years’ experience in similar role as engineer drill & blast; hold certificate Blaster Class II; understanding of Mining and Construction Technology, Mining Equipment and Applications, Engineering Principles; understanding and demonstrate of Engineering software and Computer Data Management; possess government certification of POP (Pratama Competency Test); 

• Excellent communication skills in English both verbal and written and proficient in computer literacy; strong leadership; self-motivated; team player; supportive; innovative, problem solving, think strategically; communicative; and able to work under pressure are preferred character traits.

EOI Engineer Mine Planning (926857)

In this role, you will:

• Design a safe and cost effective mine plans and ensure they are issued ahead of time

• Provide the technical mine design, scheduling and monitoring function for the mining operation

• Ensure designs are discussed with mine planning personnel and consensus is reached on the design approach

• Participate, provide input to and discuss the mining plan and any innovations, or issues with Technical Services and Production personnel

• Monitor and control dump areas, haul distance, and equipment productivities; monitor the direction of the mining operation to ensure schedules are being followed and advice on the implications of variances from schedule; provide feedback to the Mine Planning Superintendent and the Engineering group to keep them informed of any changes of sequence required in the pit;

• Prepare appropriate summaries and statistics of equipment (costs, performance, availability, and utilization), material movement, and inventory levels

What skills and experience do you need?

• A minimum Bachelor Degree in Mining or Geological Engineering. Have experience in mining operation practice is preferable, with minimum of 3 years’ experience on Mining Engineering practice as Engineer Mine Planning/ Long Term

• The candidate should have Mine design concepts & operations in coal mining, scheduling, and planning skill.

• Having strong motivation, English proficiency spoken and written, supportive, communicative, hard worker, self-motivation, team player, and able to work under pressure are preferred character traits.

Senior Engineer Geotechnical (926859)

(Balikpapan)

In this role, you will:

• Provide a range of geotechnical related services to the Thiess Indonesia Business Unit

• Collect geotechnical and hydro geological data on the rock mass

• Collect geotechnical risk and hazard assessment data

• Computing and modelling design and apply computer programs and models to characterize and predict rock and ground behaviour by looking at rock properties and then varying the situation parameters whether they be geometrical, material, etc. to see how the model responds to the change

• Monitoring of the performance of the excavation pit and disposal slopes and evaluating whole geotechnical issue

• Deal with slope stability issues, erosion, and effects of weather conditions on the pit stability

• Evaluating and recommending geotechnical design and standard for mine planning, overburden, excavation and disposal construction

• Provide geotechnical analysis and recommendation

• Interpret and check data to create a geological database

• Create a 3D computer model representing the geology of the proposed site

• Manage the development of the model by liaising with external consultants

• Check and modify the models prepared by external consultants

• Provide advice to external consultants to enhance the model

• Evaluate the risk of the model

What skills and experience do you need?

• Graduated from Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology or Geotechnical Engineering

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction / mine surveying field

• Proficient in Mining principles

• Proficient in Geotechnical design

• Proficient in IT and computer

Technical Training Developer (Contract Base - 926847)

In this role, you will:

• Analyse and interpret national training standards from across Thiess'  operational jurisdictions

• Harvest information on training and assessment practices across Thiess operations and ensure best practice is captured within training and assessment documents

• Assist projects in understanding the application of Thiess Certified Training and assessment materials

• Contribute to the development of online and classroom curriculum, training and assessment materials

• Maintain and update training and assessment materials in Thiess Learning Management System

• Provide advice on instructional/learning and curriculum improvements

• Review training and assessment materials and make recommendations for improvements for approval by global moderation team

• Maintain and provide advice and guidance on layout of master document storage system

• Maintain change management spreadsheets for training resources (change history)

• Establish and maintain minutes of moderation team meetings Establish and maintain a project schedule spreadsheet

• Develop and maintain an operational training resources improvement register

• Participate in the performance management process using the PE@T process including the creation of information performance notes in the Trakstar system

• Interface with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to determine training and assessment requirements and content advice

• Provide guidance to Moderation group on technical training process and content

• Engage with HSE and operational efficiency teams across Thiess to ensure Thiess Certified Training and assessment materials are aligned with the business

What skills and experience do you need?

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience within the mining and/or construction industry as technical or trainer background in Mining, Plant, Safety or other technical skills

• Experience in training and delivery and assessment processes, mining experience is   an advantage

• Experience in designing, reviewing and development of training and assessment resources

• Ability to research internal and external safety and training information

• Advanced computer literacy required, including intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite

• Effective time management skills Ability to work autonomously

• Strong verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills in English

• The ability to manage conflict resolution and to demonstrate resilience

• The ability to research regional legislations that applies within the mining and training industry

• Flexibility to cope with change and deadlines

• Ability to provide guidance and advice and influence where appropriate to achieve desired outcomes

Specialist Training Lifting (926796)

(Balikpapan)

Some of your duties will include:

• To train & assess TCI employees within mining and construction projects in all aspects of lifting equipment: mobile crane, forklift, crane truck, telehandler, elevated work platform and overhead crane training, lifting study in order to achieve optimum safety best performance and maximum productivity with a high focus on safety

• To ensure that TCI lifting equipment training requirements are being conducted in accordance with the Thiess Governance System (TGS)

• Assist in the design of lifting equipment training material which is relevant to used competency standards

• Actively involved in maintain and monitor of training equipment used for training activities and provide report to superiors when noncompliance found

• Provide report and feedback of training activities to site supervision and TCI Training & Development supervisors in order to keep the alignment systems between training & development and sites

• Provide accurate report based on training report participants data to T&D Admin training in order to assist in database improvement

• Provide result of lifting equipment training to site superintendent, site training coordinator and TCI Training & Development Supervisors and Manager

• Conduct tests and examinations for lifting equipment personnel/operator

• Ensure all attained competencies are recorded in both hard and soft copy

• Develop the skills proficiency of workplace trainers and assessors

What skills and experience do you need?

• Senior High School/vocational school or similar

• Certificate IV in Workplace Training (Trainer/Assessor certification by Government)

• Relevant License from Government (SIO) in Mobile Crane Class 1, Overhead Crane, Forklift, Crane Truck and other lifting equipment would be an advantage

• Minimum of  5 years’ experience within the mining and/or construction industry as a mobile crane operator with Lifting equipment’s OHS License (SIO) class I including other lifting support equipment: crane truck, overhead crane, forklift, telehandler and elevated work platform & others Lifting Equipment & Lifting activity (Rigging)

• Lifting Equipment competency, Rigging, Computer & English literacy
