POSITION : ELECTRICAL DESIGNER
Department/Project : Engineering
Education : University Graduate from on Technical Major
Working Experiences : More than 5 years in similar position or similar field

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/SERTIFICATION
1. Power cables design. Full knowledge of the design criteria to define the power cables selection in relation to the different connected users and the various laying conditions. Capability to perform electrical power cables sizing by means of Corporate and Operating Center Discipline technical design software tools.
2. Engineering design activities. Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase. Capability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work. Capability to perform and coordinate Project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by Vendors.
3. Engineering project quantity management Knowledge of workflows and methods to define project quantities in order to ensure the compliance with hours and material budgets, manage potential deviations, defining the appropriate corrective actions in compliance with contractual requirements and project objectives.
4. Engineering standard codes and regulations. Knowledge of main international Discipline standards, codes and regulations. Capability to analyze dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions. When required by the role, ability to manage the resolution of Engineering Non Conformity (NCR) at site supporting Construction and / or Fabrication activities effectively interfacing project Team, Client and Vendor.
5. 2D and 3D modelling. Knowledge of tools related to 2D and 3D modelling activities.
6. Engineering technical software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center Discipline technical design software tools. User level knowledge of Corporate and Operating Center IT tools supporting business processes such as electronic document system management, procurement and office automation applications.
7. HSE Work Practices. Knowledge of the main risks during the operation activities and safe working and environmental protection procedures/practices & rules to be applied. Knowledge of adequate Personal Protective Equipment - purpose, use and maintenance Knowledge and the correct use of Permit to Work system.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
1. Analyze and understand Tender technical requirements for electrical systems
2. Take part in electrical system design review
3. Identify technical queries, deviations and alternatives to be submitted
4. Implement bidding methodologies, design criteria and guidelines
5. Define and issue Request for quotation for electrical materials not estimated in house
6. Prepare material quantities and weights (MTOs) for estimation
7. Prepare bill of quantities (BOQ) for erection works cost estimation D-Project Execution (Job progress and completion)
8. Review Client technical documentation and requirements
9. Take part in definition of electrical system plant design requirements
10. Prepare technical documentation (specifications, data sheets, inspection data sheets) for electrical bulk materials
11. Check and review technical documentation according to Project and Saipem procedures
12. Prepare Purchase Requisitions and bids technical evaluation for electrical bulk materials
13. Perform check and review of Vendor technical documentation for electrical bulk materials
14. Develop electrical system plant design (cable routings, grounding, lighting and tracing layouts) and substations arrangements in 2D or 3D
15. Perform power cables sizing
16. Take part in definition of typical installation details and bulk materials selection
17. Prepare electrical materials take off (MTOs)
18. Prepare bill of quantities for electrical system installation
19. Participate to 3D Modelling plant review E-Construction and start up
20. Support Construction for electrical system installation works and bulk materials management
21. Assist, when necessary, engineering adjustment and define modification
22. Review as built the technical documentation
POSITION : ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/SERTIFICATION
1. Electrical Systems calculation and study. Capability to perform electrical system calculations and studies (power demand, load flow, short circuit, transient stability, motor starting, harmonics, power cables sizing, grounding, illumination levels) to define systems and equipment ratings by means of Corporate and Operating Center Discipline technical design software tools.
2. Electrical systems configuration definition. Capability to design electrical systems (power generation and distribution, grounding, lighting, etc.).
3. Electrical Systems control. Capability to define the functional philosophies for the electrical system automatic control and monitoring (power management, synchronization, load shedding, reacceleration and restarting). Knowledge of electrical monitoring and control systems architecture and relevant hardware devices and communication protocols.
4. Engineering design activities. Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase. Capability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work. Capability to perform and coordinate Project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by Vendors.

Capability to control and ensure the correct application of the general rules and guidelines by all team members and all subcontractors involved in quantity definition activities.
7. Engineering man-hours and cost budget planning and monitoring. Capability to estimate Discipline Work Orders and Bid Projects engineering man-hours budget based on the Project quantities and scope of work according to Corporate standards, procedures, methods and tools. Capability to estimate Discipline items costs budget based on Project quantities and technical requirements according to Corporate standards, procedures, methods and tools. Capability to monitor the relevant activity progress and the actual man- hours spent vs the earned progress.
8. Engineering project documents management. Capability to analyze engineering documents (e.g. Instruction to Tender, Saipem and subcontractor documents, etc.) identifying improvement areas in terms of cost/time optimization.
9. Engineering reporting techniques. Capability to monitor and control the engineering progress and schedule. Contribute to Project reporting for the relevant engineering part.
10. Engineering Subcontractor management and control. Capability to handle subcontracted engineering work packages defining the scope of work, the milestones and documentation deliverables. Capability to control the quality, the costs and the timing of the subcontracted activities ensuring the compliance with project scheduling and goals and with contract requirements.
11. Engineering technical bid evaluation Capability to perform technical evaluation of vendor bids with reference to Discipline items, bulk material and subcontracted work packages, according to Corporate standards and procedures.
12. Technical proposal preparation. Capability to prepare and coordinate the preparation of Discipline technical proposal documents for Bid Projects according to Tender contractual requirements.
13. Vendors Management. Capability to keep under control the budget of the Vendors site assistance and manage the vendors at site.

17. Check and review technical documentation according to Project and Saipem procedur es
18. Prepare Purchase Requisitions and bids technical evaluation
19. Perform check and review of Vendor technical documentation
20. Provide technical support to Procurement in purchasing and to Post order in expediting and testing
