Technical Director – Upstream Oil & Gas

We seek a Technical Director for our upstream oil & gas business with extensive technical experience in geoscience or petroleum engineering and with first-class communication skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Corporate

• Complete various work-scopes related to existing and new investments

• Participate in data-rooms and undertake due diligence scopes of work

• Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate key information to senior management

• Maintain an appropriate database to improve the Company’s corporate records

• Manage technical teams in Indonesia to achieve objectives consistent with the Company’s goals

• Coach and supervise technical staff to improve their capabilities and productivity

Projects

• Undertake direct workscopes whilst managing a multidisciplinary technical team

• Identify technical risks and issues within existing and new investments and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies including the introduction of new technology

• Provide technical advice and support to the Company’s asset operating teams

REQUIREMENTS:

• Tertiary degree in geology, geophysics or petroleum engineering

• 15+ years’ multi-disciplinary experience in the upstream oil and gas sector

• High competence level in chosen technical field with experience of leading multidisciplinary teams

• Exposure to both Indonesian and international companies and projects

• General upstream industry experience from exploration through reserves definition, appraisal, development, production and field rejuvenation

• Experience with hydrocarbon pricing and economics

• An understanding of the full value chain for oil & gas projects

• High degree of computer literacy

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

• As a senior member of the O&G team, you will have the following reporting relationships

o Direct reporting to the Country Manager

o Functional reporting to the HQ based Executive Committee (Exco)
