COMPANY OVERVIEW

A private investment firm in the Oil and Gas, Mining, Energy and Natural Resources industry is hiring now to cope with our business expansion. We welcome committed professional with relevant senior management experience gained within the energy or wider natural resources industry to join us.

 

1) Chief Operating Officer

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Represent the Company in various forums and advocate its best interests

• Lead the Jakarta based team and manage the office

• Nurture staff to develop their skills and maximise their contribution to the Company

• Develop and implement strategy in the context of the Company’s strategic objectives and in consultation with the Company’s senior management

• Develop, implement and manage the Jakarta office budget (P&L) as agreed with head office

• Identify and lead the Company into new business opportunities to increase market penetration and improve profitability

• Implement and manage polices consistent with the Company’s culture and vision

• Manage relationship with partners, vendors and other stakeholders

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• Tertiary degree in a technical discipline within the engineering, energy, oil & gas or mining industry

• Graduate degree in business or a business-related discipline

• 20+ years’ experience including at least 5 to 10 years in senior management roles

• Exposure to both Indonesian and international company operations

• Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development

• Able to demonstrate true leadership abilities, lead teams as well as be able to work independently

• Strong, active network within the business community together with relevant government agencies and ministries

• High degree of computer literacy

2) Head of Mining

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• P&L of Indonesian Mining business

• Budgeting and cost control

• Identifying and generating potential business investment opportunities in the mining industry

• Providing leadership for high-profile projects / investment opportunities to ensure achievement of business strategies / targets

• Establishing working practices, procedures and goals and maintaining company standards.

• Establishing and managing risk assessments, systems and procedures

• Overseeing all health and safety, environment & quality policies plus ensuring regulatory compliance

• Supervising and coordinating performance reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually)

•    Proactively analysing market opportunities, trends, competitive positioning, industry forecasts and business implications to influence product / solution roadmaps

• Communicating, dealing and negotiating with multiple stakeholders in creating relationships of trust 

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

• University degree in geology, mining engineering or relevant subjects required; a master’s level degree would be beneficial

• Senior Mining industry experience across differing minerals (preferably base metals, coal and precious metals) is a must

• Minimum 15 years’ experience in mine operations including technical, commercial and general management is essential

• Experience with both domestic and multi-national companies preferred

• Track record as successful Head of Mining (or equivalent position) within Indonesia preferable 

• Willingness to learn and be open to new approaches

• Able to demonstrate true leadership abilities, lead teams as well as an ability to work independently

• High degree of computer literacy

• High degree of professional ethics and integrity

• Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information

• Excellent lobbying capabilities

• Willing to travel to projects sites

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Strategic thinker with ability to influence the Company’s investment thesis based on rational sector assessment, deep understanding of macroeconomic influences, detailed evaluation skills and sound business judgement
